  1. I'm with "better than expected" - loved it! Also made 1/2 recipe, using a 6" cake pan and baked it for 45 min. at 350. It made a really cute, small round loaf that was great for 2 or 3.

  2. OMG. Better than expected! The perfect balance of savory and sweet. So fluffy with a gorgeous crust. I sifted the flour before use and didn't have buttermilk on hand so I used a mixture of 1% milk, sour cream, lemon and vinegar. Worked a treat!

  5. My Irish neighbor made this every St. Patrick’s day when I was growing up. You use golden raisins and no caraway seeds. It is not an every day bread, it is for feast days. Mrs. Canney told us this bread Is made especially for St. Patrick’s day to break up the Lenten fast with milk, egg and butter.
